
Zsuzsi (Susan) Scenic Railway bears the name of the first 107 horsepower steam locomotive that ran on the old, 950 mm gauge railway near Debrecen. In 1961, the rail was re-gauged to 760 mm (2 ft 5⅞ in), and the old steam engines were replaced by Mk48 diesel locomotives. Since 1996, the narrow gauge lines between
Debrecen and Harmashegyalja survive as a preservation project.

Tiszakurt is a village 22 miles east of Kecskemet, on Road 44. Its main attraction, the Arboretum once was part of the private property of the Italian Bolza family, but its gates are now open to the public year round.

This year’s Hungarian International Air Show & Military Exposition at Kecskemet Air Base was an exemplary one of those two-day events, which attract aerobatics enthusiasts and military fans from all over the world to Kodaly’s city every other year.

May 1st, 2007 was a bit windy in Tiszakecske, but this did not deter the celebration-ready crowd from enjoying
family fun and merriment. Keeping with established tradition, the local art groups entertained the guests with dazzling performances.
Competition dancers,
folk dance groups, and
modern dance performers took center stage one after the other, and the local
zither band enchanted the audience with a concert/jam session that was indeed music to the ears.
